I would like to thank
the residents of District 6 for giving me the opportunity to
represent you and all of the residents in DuPage County. Since being
elected, I wanted to give an update of what I have been
working on. Since being elected three years ago, we, the
board, have implemented positive fiscal changes for the
residents of Du Page County. DuPage County has a AAA
bond rating unlike the state and federal government.
This AAA rating is something that approximately 1% of
counties in our Country have. We, the board, are trying
to lead by example. We took a 6 ½% cut in salary and
restructured the countys employee pension and benefit
plans. There were no cuts in any services provided by
the county. The projects in District 6 on storm water
and project infrastructure are all on schedule. After
all of this we still saved the taxpayers millions of
dollars. I have opted out of receiving a county pension
and continue to donate a portion of my salary to
charities. I am proud to say that I continue to work
hard in a bi partisan manner to insure the quality of
life for our residents grows and improves in these hard
economic times.
I have been attending as many city council and school board meetings
as physically possible as well as Mayors and Managers and
neighborhood meetings. My main focus has been to listen to the needs
and concerns of the residents and improving our quality of life in
DuPage County. We have also been pushing for transparency in our
County government financially and accountability of the use your of
tax dollars.
I am always open to new ideas and look forward to hearing from my
constituents. I will continue to work to be a part of the solution
to problems, and not a part of the problem. A quote that I wrote and
practice everyday is There are no bad ideas when it comes to
improving ones quality of life, only those squandered by he or she
not acting upon them to make them a reality and not just a dream.
Together we are making DuPage County a great place to live. I am
proud to be the voice of the people, insuring that the needs and
ideas of the people are heard and acted upon.
