In this area I feel that a lot of this goes back to relying almost solely on property taxes to fund education. I will work to fight tax hikes at this time. This Board has not been fiscally responsible with current tax revenues. Instead of cutting departments and putting public safety at risk by downsizing that department, the Board should lead by example by giving back their unneccessary perks and by taking a pay cut. We are pricing many of our seniors and low income residents out of their homes in this district, because of sky rocketing property taxes. There are many different plans out there to fund education without relying solely on our property taxes. This is a flawed property tax system. Our children are the building blocks of our future, they deserve better and so do you. I will fight to insure a brighter future for all.
