We live in a Strong Faith Based County of which I am very proud to be a resident of, yet I feel that the needs and concerns of the residents have fallen silent upon this County Board. I am surprised that this Board could consider passing the "Doomsday Budget" this year and put our public safety at risk by cutting County Department Budgets by 20% over all. I have attended several Budget meetings and have yet to see this Board vote to take a pay cut of their own, but they are willing to see other departments lay off loyal employees. I knew then that this Board lacked responsiblity for poor budget planning and use of hard earned tax dollars. I am asking for your support and vote this election. I do and always will believe that TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! Goverrnment is supposed to be here to serve and protect the public and not the other way around. I am proud to come from the middle class of this Country, therefore I know the value of the dollar inside and out. I have helped to build this county and have grown to respect and love it. I, unlike my opponents, will not support Home Rule because after all this is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people, for the people. Your voice and vote is the only system from which your concerns and needs can be heard. By voting for Home Rule, we put all our faith in the hands of a few people. You have my word that when elected I will hold as many public forums as possible to hear your opinions and ideas before I vote on them. Vote Smart!! Vote for a Change for the Better, not the same!! Vote for Dirk Enger!!
